Call for Student Volunteers

Student volunteers are very important for any conferece - they make the conference possible. We invite full-time students in any institution to work with us as volunteers.

A volunteer needs to put in effort equivalent to 3 days of work to help run the conference. Student volunteers from IIT Bombay will start on work soon. Those from outside will need to make themselves available from March 19, 2010 in the IIT Bombay campus. Some volunteers will always have to man the reception during the conference (but we can rotate this duty so that each volunteer gets to attend at least 75% of the sessions). Volunteers will also be associated with each activity and will work under the direction of the chairs of those activities.

Student volunteers get to attend the conference for free. They also get to attend a tutorial or workshop of their choice for free (provided we have at least one student volunteer for each tutorial and workshop). The student volunteers get to attend a special dinner on the last day of the conference and may (no promises yet) get a free conference T shirt. In case you need, we will help you find cheap accommodation on the campus of IIT Bombay.

To volunteer, send an email to admin@indiahci.in, tell us the name of your institute and what activity you would prefer to volunteer for. Note, there is no closing date, but we have only limited number of student volunteer positions - we will close this call when we have enough volunteers.

Thanks to a great response, we think we already have enough student volunteers now to run the conference. We are closing the call as of now, but if you are interested to volunteer, do drop in an email and we will try to include you in case of any drop-out. You are still welcome to participate in the conference in other ways.
