Submissions not meeting the page limit or formatting requirements will be automatically disqualified. This document should be submitted as a single PDF and the file must be no larger than 10 MB in size. The paper should clearly describe the novelty and distinguishing characteristics of your work.

Explainer Video: Teams must provide a supplementary video (MP4 file, max 5-minutes), with a file size of no larger than 50 MB, illustrating how your solution fits the lives of the users with the help of scenarios. It may illustrate some details of the interface and the information presented. Kindly submit your video to this link. Please make sure that your video is anonymised as per the requirements of the track.

If your video is larger than 50 MB: In case the size of your video file is larger than 50 MB, please upload it on the internet and paste the URL to a text file and upload the text file to the same link. Please make sure that your video and your URL are anonymised as per the requirements of the track.

Proof of Student Status: All authors must submit a note signed by their academic supervisor(s)/head of school to SDCChairIndiaHCI@gmail.com with the title of their paper as the subject line. Authors working in teams must send their student proof as one zip file. The student proof is used to verify:

  2. Whether the team members are graduate and/or undergraduate students

All SDC submissions must be made through the EasyChair portal.

Eligibility Guidelines

For this year’s design challenge, the following are the evaluation criteria:

ACM Paper Format

All authors should submit manuscripts in the ACM Paper Format using Microsoft Word Template, LaTeX Template, or Overleaf.

[Please note that the Microsoft Word Template contains invisible meta-tags related to the paper format and structure. While writing the paper authors are requested to add their content without altering any format and structure of the template.]

Important information

  • We accept only electronic submissions through India HCI electronic submission system supported by Easychair
  • The presentation of accepted submissions would be entirely online this year.
  • All acceptances will be conditional pending changes that the committee may suggest or require for the final camera-ready draft of the paper. The primary author of each accepted poster or demo will receive detailed instructions on how to submit a final publication-ready version of the paper and the associated materials that are to be brought to the conference venue. This means that the work will not be formally accepted to India HCI until authors submit a final draft for approval by the program committee.

Important Dates

  • September 5, 2021: Submission due
  • October 4, 2021: Notification of acceptance
  • October 10, 2021: Camera-ready submission due
  • (All deadlines close at 23:59 IST)

There will be three independent reviewers for each paper. In addition, a meta-review will be done by a program committee member.
